December is definitely a month everyone looks forward to with a wide grin. I don’t know about you but this holiday season is the best time for me to disconnect from reality and have a jolly time with my family.

But my brain refuses to realize it’s vacation already. I feel restless at times when I’m not doing anything productive and sometimes guilty as well. And I believe this is something relatable, which is why I decided to discuss this topic with you. And along the way, I’m gonna give you some tips on how to really calm your racing mind and enjoy these holidays to the fullest, with the right balance of relaxation and productivity.

I know we have been working so hard at work or school to improve our grades but we must realize that this is our chance to stop doing everything and just relax. I know, it’s extremely hard to ignore an awesome idea for your new project but come on, that’s what holidays are for.

Disconnect from the outside world

I’m pretty sure the majority of us are into social media (including me) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but this is your time to put that phone aside and talk to the person sitting right next to you (after you finish reading this post..haha). It’s important to truly unplug, which means you have got to stop checking emails.

Change your location

Spending your holidays in the same place you work or study can be frustrating. Try spending time with your grandparents and friends or go to places like the park or beach. This will definitely help refresh your mind which is definitely our goal for this month.

Don’t overdo your to-do list

I get really excited during these holiday seasons especially because you get to meet so many people and celebrate with your friends and family. But I also tend to overdo things like buying too many sweets or just loads of cute Christmas mugs, planning to follow up on my holiday activities, hectic music sessions, and basically no time to sit and reflect on my thoughts. However, at the end of the winter break, I regret it.

So try not to put too much pressure on yourself. You are less likely to do something if you set unrealistic goals as it would lead to burnout. Try to keep things calm and easy.

Self-care is key

Last but not least is self-care. We get these breaks to step out of our work mood and have some relaxing me-time. So don’t ignore this wonderful opportunity to love yourself.

Thank you so much for staying with me till the end! Do let me know in the comments if you have more tips to share. And I’m always looking for more topics to write on, so feel free to drop one down in the comments! Happy Holidays!!
